Genesis Behavior Center, Inc. was founded in 2003 in response to the continuing need for effective, research-based services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and various behaviors. Dr. Romena Kiryakous, PsyD of Genesis Behavior Center is committed to providing the highest quality of behavioral intervention for children and families living with autism.

Dr. Romena Kiryakous, PsyD is the founder and CEO of Genesis Behavior Centers, a behavioral pediatric clinic dedicated to treating children with all needs especially treating those very complex diagnoses. Founded more than 20 years ago, the clinics celebrate many success stories and outstanding outcomes. Dr. Kiryakous earned her master’s degree in psychology and both a PhD and a Doctor of Psychology, with a specific specialty in treating children with difficult cases.
Dr. Kiryakous developed FirstPath, a proprietary comprehensive behavioral health software that addresses the clinical and administrative needs of organizations providing care to clients with behavioral developmental conditions. Dr. Kiryakous also used to served as the vice-chair of the First Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center in Central Valley.
Intervention is based on principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and utilizes technology based on the research of Lovaas, Sundberg & Partington, and others Primary methods used are Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Natural Environment Training (NET), Verbal Behavior procedures, and functional analysis of behaviors. Each child’s current functioning level is assessed and an individualized program developed to meet his/her needs in the areas of functional communication, social skills, self-help skills, pre-academic skills, and maladaptive behaviors.
Services are available in home and at public or private school sites. The mission of Genesis Behavior Center is to give each child and family the tools needed for independence and success in daily life, in the least restrictive environment possible. Genesis began offering franchises in 2024 to combat the growing need for ABA clinics needed to keep up with the growing demand for help.

His expertise in domestic and international franchising is instrumental in driving the success and global reach of Genesis.
As a lifelong entrepreneur, Jeff has owned businesses in the real estate, construction, and design industries, and has mentored small business owners. His dedication to mental health advocacy ultimately led him to join the Genesis mission to help people live their best lives.

Dr. Romena Kiryakous, PysD, founder and CEO of Genesis Behavior Centers and FirstPath Inc., has dedicated over 20 years to advancing autism treatment and mental health care. She established Genesis over two decades ago to meet the specialized needs of children with ASD and developmental conditions. As CEO of Genesis Franchising, Dr. Kiryakous oversees the expansion of its behavioral pediatric franchise, committed to providing comprehensive care to children with ASD and other mental health challenges, both for children and adults.
Dr. Kiryakous is also the creator of FirstPath software, a proprietary tool designed to address the clinical and administrative needs of organizations offering ABA care. Her innovative software has significantly improved operational efficiency in the behavioral health field.
In addition to her software innovations, Dr. Romena Kiryakous pioneered the use of brain stimulation treatment in California, known as PrTMS (Personalized Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation). This groundbreaking approach has set a new standard in mental health care and has positively impacted countless lives. Dr. Kiryakous has collaborated with Dr. Kevin Murphy, M.D., founder of PeakLogic, to expand the treatment of PrTMS globally, further advancing its reach and impact in the field of mental health care.
With a master’s degree in psychology and both a Ph.D. and Doctor of Psychology specializing in treating complex cases in children, Dr. Kiryakous continues to lead Genesis with passion and expertise. Her visionary leadership aims to deliver FirstPath software to all mental health care providers, enabling them to access analytics and outcomes for their patients.
Dr. Kiryakous is enthusiastic about expanding through franchising, aiming to reach more individuals and families in need of specialized care and support.
